How Much Does Website Design Cost?
This is one of the most frequently asked questions and before it can be answered, you need to have determined how large a website you are wanting or needing, what kind of website you are looking for (see How Do I Describe The Kind of Website I Need), how much you need graphic work for your branding/look, and also how much you need programming or flash work for special features.
To have a custom-designed website is the web equivalent of having a house designed by an architect and then built for you. Any designer gets a bit of a signature look after a while, but it is still true that if your website needs to be one that is unique to you and/or your business, the whole website will be designed and built from scratch. This takes time involving graphic skills, programming skills, and an understanding of search engine and social media practices and draws on years of research and experience.
Because there are so many variables that can take the cost of a website up or down, I cannot realistically suggest a price for your website without some kind of discussion. Anyone who does this for you is probably going to give you a templated website that looks like a bunch of others they have made already with little or no room for expansion or customization.
You may be wanting more than you realize. On the other hand your important needs could be met with a simpler website than you imagine.
If you have thought through what you need for your website and the websites in my design portfolio appeal to you, please contact me (include your phone number and a good time for me to call you) and I will be happy to discuss it with you and give an estimate without obligation. A helpful approach is to identify your main goals, list what you want, and also to identify some websites that have the kind of look and features that you like.
